The Greenworks Training Academy installed an air source heat pump late in 2014 to heat its training rooms, and reduced its gas consumption by 7,792 KwH in 2015, the company stated recently.
Greenworks provides sustainable building and energy efficient technologies training to installers, architects, specifiers and self-builders, including installation training.
The company decided that it was a good opportunity to not only reduce its energy bills and carbon emissions, but also show its delegates the real benefits of air source heat pumps in a live setting.
The company took a further step in its recycling habits and increased it by 66%, which helped it gain the ‘Zero to Landfill’ status.
Marcus Jefford, Director at Greenworks said:
“We train people everyday about sustainability and energy efficiency, and have access to the latest technology and the most experienced partners. For years we have been practicing what we preach and invested in the products we train people in, and the results have surprised even us.
“It’s proof that it is possible to feasibly run a facility, even one as large as ours, in the most energy efficient way possible, if you just invest in the right product and simultaneously encourage a culture of environmentally friendly behaviour.”
